About DAT Academy
DAT Academy began in 2020 as a small online group run by Dr. Ali Ishtiaq. Today it is one classroom of doctors, nurses and pharmacists from Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Kashmir and the UK, preparing for OET, IELTS, PLAB and USMLE with tutors from NHS and GMC backgrounds.
Our story
After MBBS, Dr. Ali Ishtiaq cleared OET and PLAB, worked in the Maldives and then in a London emergency department. At every step the hardest part was the same: nobody who had already done it was explaining exactly where the marks are lost. DAT Academy was built to be that person.
Every course runs live on Zoom and every session is recorded, so a doctor on night duty in Layyah and a nurse in Leeds can sit the same class. Letters are marked by hand, mocks run under exam conditions, and the team stays with you until you book your test and plan the move.
Tutors come from NHS and GMC backgrounds. Behind the classes, a small team handles counselling, USMLE and IELTS coordination, Canada immigration guidance and day-to-day student support, so there is always a real person to talk to.
